Movie Review – Black and Blue

I sincerely think it was a cool movie after all, although it seemed like they didn’t have enough marketing budget for the movie,  regardless I didn’t feel like I wasted my money.

It was like any typical cop and bad guy kind of chase movie, where the cops always triumph at the end. I kind of liked the way they started the movie and the action scenes just went on and on till the very end. If you enjoy movies where there are conspiracies in the good guy camp, where evil have infiltrated the police force, then you might enjoy this new movie. I liked it and I enjoyed every bit of the action.

The movie was directed Deon Taylor and written by Peter A. Dowling, a simple well written storyline, nice connections and a few flash backs. I love the action scenes and the production was okay. I loved the cast and how they told the story about the black folks. They made the lead actress a lady which I felt was really nice, something different from the regular all men usual action movies. I also loved the fact that it ended well and she was vindicated from all the conspiracies tagged on her, at the end I was glad I could make out time to see this new movie.

Alicia West used to be in the military until she lost all her family members and decided to move back and join the police force, she felt that her joining the force will aid her to serve her people better and protect her black folks. She was very strong, passionate, determined and courageous. She had a partner called Kevin Jennings and she really trusted him, one day he couldn’t go on a mission with her, so she had to follow another cop to move around for the evening patrol, after a long drive they came to an uncompleted building where he dropped to see some people, suddenly she heard some gun shots, In the quest to save her partner she runs in with her police body cam, only to find out that the cops 3 in number had just killed 2 young guys.

The guys in the quest to save their jobs and lives they decided to run after her and kill her, the entire movie was about them chasing her to kill her once and for all and she just wasn’t going to die, the whole system was corrupted and she had no one to trust except an old black friend she met along the line, with luck on her side she was able to get the footage to the office and save her life. You will need to watch the entire movie to see how the movie played out and how the “Blues and Blacks” fought all through the night to save what they believed was right. The last few scenes were the epic and that was the highlights of the movie, make sure you don’t miss the last scenes, it will make up for the entire movie.

To my verdict I would score this movie 7/10, I think the movie was just simple and too basic for an action movie, it had a similar and familiar storyline we have seen before, it didn’t really look original. I loved the production, cast and action scenes and the fact that it ended well, for all the action movie lovers out there, you could run along and see this movie, before it goes off, and make sure you let me know what you think about it.
