Sample Online Movie Review 23- ARBITRATION

6 Min Read

There is something about this movie that created a buzz.  talk about it and the name did give it out a little. The big issue was that most people will feel it is just another Nigerian movie, but no, this movie was far from all those other movies, this movie was so good and it met my expectations. Although I am not a great fan of flashback movies where they acting from the present to the past, this movie was an exception and has changed my orientation that we are getting better and better and are improving so well. The flashbacks weren’t boring at all and I enjoyed every bit of this movie.‎ This movie had something going for it, the cast, quality of production, the words and how they were passed across, a beautiful storyline and big question to leave your  reasoning at the end of the movie ” can a man rape a woman without any trace of force and coarse” got me really excited and spiked a debate even after the movie.

The 1hr 47mins movie was just perfect believe me we had no clue we had spent almost 2hrs in there already, we just wanted it to go on and on, the movie kept us attached to our seats all through making all kinds of comments. The movie was well written, articulated and structured. The producers took their time to put every piece of this movie together, it had a unique and different perspective explaining how two different people in the sample circumstance could relate the same story so differently. The movie features acts like O.C Ukeje, Adesuwa Etomi, Eretiola Doyle and many others. The movie disclosed that having an affair in the office was a very risky venture because when it goes bad the company suffers.

‎To the movie proper, it started with what was like a court room or will I say a mini court room, with a judge but here there were no witnesses and it was more like an arbitration room. So the defendant and the accused had to come up with their lawyers to come to defend their case to help them either prove that they were innocent or guilty of the charge rendered there forth. So Dara as was called in the movie had an affair with the CEO of Olarewaju limited Mr Gbenga, it was so difficult for me to tell if both parties really loved themselves or it was all pretentious methods of getting something from each other. Sincerely they played it so well even at the end I couldn’t still tell, but the question for me was that if they truly loved themselves will they have done what they did to one other, well I as a person don’t think so. Actually Dara helped Gbenga to take the company to the next level, she made the company so successful and she deserved 30% of the company, when it was time to be given Gbenga wanted to play smart and deceive her of her share of the company. Apparently Dara wanted more from the relationship but when she couldn’t get it, she had to frame Gbenga up that he raped her so she could indict him and get her percentage back. Sincerely they were so good and articulate with their roles. The flash backs were extremely very interesting, and how they both related the same story was just thrilling, but at the end they told us the final true story (what really transpired that faithful night). The issue here is that when the chips are down and the romance is over, a man or woman will do what they have to do to protect their own personal selfish interest so be warned.

This week I will be scoring this Nigerian movie a beautiful 9/10 why because I enjoyed every bit of it, they met my expectation, beautiful story line, well scripted, articulated and thought after. I don t really like flash back movies, but this one absolutely nailed it for me and I won’t mind seeing it again and again. It also did leave a lot of questions in the hearts of  those of us at that cinema that evening, questions of how do you really know a man loves you, and if they will ever leave their wives to marry you. Well you have to be very careful before you enter any legal or illicit relationships. I believe this is a lovely movie to go see this weekend; they were just amazing in this movie.
