Loads of people like myself kept wondering what was going to be displayed in this new edition of Rambo. For those of us that remember, we would know that Rambo is a veteran and a very old household name from the 80’s. So, for us, we thought that the Rambo story was over, until they came back again this year. For me I went in with a very huge expectation and they were just not surpassed. I was looking for a bit of action and it was good to see something nice and different from all the dramatic movies in the cinema. Well I enjoyed the movie funnily, despite most people getting out upset, I found a way of getting a good side of the story, which they called the ‘Last Rambo”. We all hope that this would indeed be the last of “Rambo”. I think they should end it here or move on to something different.
This sequel of Rambo was directed by Adrian Grunberg and written by Mathew Cirulnick, Slyvester Stallone. The production was top notch as always, nice and simple crew, we just had a few lead acts in the movie, and they did put up a good show. The movie wasn’t so long, they told a simple story that went from the beginning to the end and went back in memory lane to tell us, why he did what he did and how he saved a daughter from her cruel father. I think the only downside was just the fact that we had seen loads of Rambo movies with loads of actions and most people went in with that same expectation only to be served with something else, I really loved the end anyway and I was glad I made out time to check this sequel out.
It will be nice to go down memory lane a bit, to highlight the past sequels of Rambo with the first one that was released in 1982 Rambo “First blood”, Rambo “First blood” Part II, in 1985, Rambo III in 1988, Rambo “The Fight continues” in 2008 and this final sequel called “The Last Blood” in 2019. This sequel told a story of how Stallone lived with an old lady and their young daughter who was about 16 years. She was about to go to the University. She was very fond of Stallone and wanted to tell him everything, she insisted that she will like to know who her real dad was before going to the university. She had a final party before deceiving her grand mum and Stallone, she was going to a friend’s house only to run off to Mexico to go search for her dad. When she found him, he told her to her face, that he never liked her or wanted her, that she should leave and return home. This broke her heart badly, a few hours later she found herself in a dark room, only to realize that her good friend had sold her for money.
The movie went to the next level when Stallone had to run to Mexico and fight to save her life. He went the first time and was beaten, the second time he went prepared and invited them over to his place, this was the best aspect of this movie. The entire action was saved for the tail end, make sure you are patient enough to seat through, only then will you understand the entire movie and see our Stallone in full action. I totally enjoyed the end and I was glad I waited.

To my verdict I would score this movie 7/10, I think the movie was just simple and too basic for a Rambo movie considering all the editions since 1982. Most people expected much more and wanted more blood and action. I guess I was content and happy with the way he fought at the end. My greatest concern really would be that they should just end the Rambo sequel and come up with another movie for Stallone if at all he would like to continue acting. For the action movie lovers please just go in with a bit of expectation and an open mind, you would end up enjoying it like I did.
